Description
Music theory codifies the techniques that have been used by composers for hundreds of years. Why reinvent the wheel when you can learn from the masters? Music theory will provide you with many tools that will not only increase your understanding of music, but will also give you extensive resources for writing your own songs.
There are currently many, many, music theory books available, but very few are easily accessible for the contemporary guitarist. This book has been written to address this issue. Theoretical concepts are only as good as their application. As you learn new theoretical concepts you need to be able to see how they can be applied to the guitar. In each chapter of this book you will find application sections that describe how to apply each theoretical concept to the fretboard of the guitar.
The Absolute Essentials of Music Theory for Guitar, has been written to provide the beginner to intermediate guitar player, of all styles, with the absolute essentials of music theory. Each chapter begins with an explanation of theoretical concepts and concludes with questions and answers that will test your new knowledge.
