Course Objectives
The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course is designed for healthcare providers who initiate and direct basic through advanced life support. Course concepts are designed to be used throughout the stabilization and transport phases for both in-hospital and outof-hospital pediatric emergencies. In this course you will enhance your skills in the evaluation and management of an infant or child with respiratory compromise. circulatory compromise, or cardiac arrest. During the course you will actively participate in a series of simulated core cases. These simulations are designed to reinforce Important concepts, including
– Identification and trealment of problems that place the child at risk for cardiac arrest
– Application of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment
– Use of the “evaluate-identify-intervene” sequence
– Use of PALS algorithms and flowcharts
– Demonstration of effective resuscitation team dynamics
